Latest Updates from Our Project:

Second stretch goal unlocked!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Sep 07, 2019 at 10:06:44 PM

Minerva Agents, you did it again! We are glad to share this adventure with you. You've been a strong team on our mission to explore the Miasma.

Thanks to you, we've reached the second stretch goal and we are now halfway to make the core rulebook 400 pages long – currently ~340 pages. Just two stretch goals more to get there.

With the page count increase we are able to include new decision points and secret paths that the players can use. This means that by following certain decisions, players may access paths which are exclusive to a certain region. And of course, more artwork!

New monsters

We originally had 20 monsters for the Eldritch Bestiary, now we will include 5 extra monsters! To complement this update, here is a small intel about one of them along with its concept artwork and the current work in progress.

Puppet Master concept art by David Yáñez.

The puppet master is an insidious being lurking in the miasma. It takes control of destroyed settlements and “ reanimates” its bodies using strings to simulate life; this is an elaborate trap to lure travellers into the settlement where they killed... and reanimated afterwards.

Miasma Mysteries

We will add 10 new Miasma Mysteries to the book so you can use them in your campaigns. Here's another one to ignite your imagination for an adventure:

A building has appeared in the Vienna forest. It does not match the aesthetic, architectural or organizational ways of nearby towns. Moreover, returning expeditions that have ventured to England have identified a missing theater in London. By “missing”, of course, they mean that the lot is not only empty, but also entirely dug out.

Extra STL

We have unlocked an alternate STL file from a character of the Axumite Empire, which will be included in the STL Bundle 1: Characters. Let's keep breaking through stretch goals so we can model and include all 5 new characters for the Axumite Empire.

Effort Levels
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 05, 2019 at 10:04:22 PM

Hello Minerva Agents!

In today's update, we are going to talk about how the Effort System works:

In the Draco System, all characters have Effort Slots that they can use. These represent the willpower, endurance and the ability of the human body to go beyond its normal limits. As the players increase in level, they gain access to more Slots of increasing levels. Gradually increasing up to 6th level Slots.

The Effort levels

There are 6 levels of Effort Slots which are gradually obtained. All classes follow this progression.

Using Effort to fuel abilities

Each of the Paths offer options to use the Effort Slots. Combat-oriented characters can use them for their actions and attacks to give them an edge in combat. Powercasting characters can use them to fuel their Powers or alter the ways they bring their abilities into action.

Some alternative rules included in the Rulebook allow for additional uses of Effort Slots. A social character, for instance, may use an Effort Slot to improve their odds when persuading an NPC to get their way. While these and other rules are optional, they allow the players to reach what we intended for the Effort and Ability Systems: full creative freedom for players and GMs.

Here are some examples that use a single Slot

Action surge  – On your turn, you may spend an Effort Slot to take additional actions. You can’t use this action to use a Powercasting ability. The amount of actions you get is equal to the level of the Effort Slot. So a level 1 Slot gives you one action, a level 2 Slot gives you 2 actions and so on.

Minerva intel – You have access to Minerva files and information. You may spend an Effort Slot to get special intel on a situation at hand. The level of the intel is equal to the level of the Slot used.

Tesla Discharge – You may spend a level 1 Slot to generate a magnetic field around you. This field increases your Defense against ranged weapons by 2.

Recovering Effort

All the classes recover all of their spent Effort Slots after completing a long rest. Some of the Paths have special ways of recovering Effort Slots. These are normally tied to their modifiers, proficiency or by spending hit dice on short rests.

Recently, we received an art update for the final Axumite characters, here are some previews with the final render along with to the concept art work.

Soon we will have the 3D models to share as well. These will be included in STL Bundle 1 when we reach the next Stretch Goal.

First stretch goal unlocked!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Sep 03, 2019 at 05:22:02 PM

You made it Minerva Agents! We’ve reached our first stretch goal and you are going to be able to explore deeper into Eldritch Century. This is very gratifying for us because it allows us to create a bigger Corebook and include more art and content.

Extra STL We have unlocked an alternate STL file of Victoria Alvarez which will be included before the campaign ends in the STL FREE Bundle and shared with all backers. This model was one of the very firsts created for Eldritch Century back in January 2018. Our resin workshop had a very limited print run of these but soon you will be able to 3D print her.

More Content

We have also unlocked new content for the Corebook involving new cities and decision points for character creation. This will expand the players' options when using the Exegesis system.

New general Path

The Armor focuses on defensive actions and abilities. This Path aims to improve the user's survival and explore new ways of using Power Armors, which are very prevalent in the setting. Here is an example of one of the abilities:

  •  Armor overload: You have knowledge of how to improve the efficiency of your armor in the middle of combat. As an action, you may spend an Effort Slot to get a bonus to your Defense equal to the level of the Slot.

Miasma Mysteries

We will add new Miasma Mysteries to the book. These mysteries are plot hooks that can be used as part of your adventures or to provide background to your campaign.

One February morning, a crew of Sino-Siberian Mandate scouts in the Ural mountains discovered an Oceanic Ship that had somehow shipwrecked at the top of one of the peaks. The crew within was dead, all missing their left hands. Their frozen faces showed no terror at the moment of death.

We keep moving forward, on our way to unlock our next stretch goal with more content, art and additional models. We aim to offer you a Corebook with ~400 pages. Let's crush all the stretch goals and get there!

Remember: you can help us to reach more people by sharing this campaign in your favorite RPG or 3D forums or by sharing our Facebook pinned post in any gaming groups you belong to.

Teslamancer (Sino-Siberian Mandate)
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 02, 2019 at 09:44:39 PM

Hello Minerva Agents,

This weekend more Minerva agents joined the initiative and thanks to them, the project's momentum is still very good! We’re really thankful for all your support.

Click to see more data on Kicktraq.

We want you to have a better understanding of our setting while this campaign is live, so in future updates you will find more information about our characters, the story, the rules and the making of Eldritch Century.

Welcome to our newest adventure. We’re glad that you are here with us.

What is a Teslamancer?

Teslamancers are the scientists and developers in the Sino-Siberian Mandate. Powered by Tesla Technology, their mastery over electricity is unparalleled to its applications in the other Factions. Teslamancers are heavily trained in both combat and the engineering of their machinery.

Sino-Siberian Mandate units. Left to right: Zhao Li (Imperial Guard), Dimitri Gagarin (Rytsar) and Olga Antonova (Teslamancer).

They’re heavily supported by the Mandate in their research and are, perhaps, the ones who can benefit the most in an immediate way from their discoveries in the Miasma. Powerful, focused and intelligent, Teslamancers are quintessential in any successful Expedition.

The regions of Wounded Earth consumed by the Miasma once belonged to what became the Sino-Siberian Mandate. Thus, all Teslamancers have something to gain from any Expedition. The recovery of long-lost knowledge may appeal to some, while others may thrive in the chaos that can erupt from messing with what was left behind to their advantage.  Olga Antonova, for instance, was chosen to delve into the Miasma on Mandate orders, recommended by Gabrijela Tesla herself. Her accomplishments in protecting and working with the Haizilong Squad allowed her to learn unmeasurable amounts of information regarding her own faction and the terrors within the Miasma. Yet in a world like the Wounded Earth, the official route is never the only way to get what you want.

In order to become a Teslamancer a character must come from the Sino-Siberian Mandate and must manage to get into a Tesla City for training. The process is arduous, mind-shearing and overbearing; but once the training is over, a Teslamancer is an asset that every group will appreciate.

Teslamancer Powers

A Teslamancer is able to access one of the following Aspects since the beginning. As they level up, they will gain access to the rest. Each of them allows them to control a certain pure view of their powers and shape the battlefield around them.

Magnetism

The power to control metals is a powerful asset in the Wounded Earth. Given the prevalence of Power Armors, this ability is highly feared by enemies of the Sino-Siberian Mandate.  Teslamancers’ control over Magnetism allows them to compress or extend metals around a target, move metallic objects and sense metal around them.

Electricity

The power to manipulate electricity is an Aspect of Teslamancing that they learn to rely on early in their careers, along with coming to terms with the dangers it represents. True control of  something as fickle as electricity, however, takes time; but once it is achieved, the Teslamancer can hurl electricity at their foes, power electrical objects and even overcharge the Power Armors of their companions and mess with the workings of those worn by their enemies.

Electromagnetism

Electromagnetism is the rarest of all the Aspects the Teslamancers have. It’s possibly the hardest to master and rarest to find; but the Teslamancers who have control over electromagnetism are deeply appreciated by their peers. This Aspect allows them to manipulate, control and enhance electromagnetic waves, interfere with communications and even render electronics useless in a small area.

Let us know your thoughts about the Teslamancer in the comments. Here's a picture with a real-size Teslamancer staff.
